Opera Teen Caption Competition!!

Sorry to have been AWOL for so long everyone. It’s been a busy summer and I hope you are ALL having a fantastic summer!

Today, I bring you the FIRST EVER OPERA TEEN CAPTION COMPETITION!!!!!

The idea of the game is that you have to give the picture at the bottom of the post a fun or humorous caption and I’ll decide the best one! The winner will win a free download of Carmen by Bizet. The recording is the 1984 Migenes-Johnson, Placido Domingo, Ruggero Raimondi and Faith Esham recording that I’m almost 100% is out of print now. The movie was just re-released on DVD but the CD is yet to be released again. Even though Migenes-Johnson is a soprano, her Carmen is wonderful and the rest of the cast is in great voice! It’s a treasure for any music collection.

The Rules:

  1. You may only enter once.
  2. You can submit your caption in three ways. You can enter through a comment on this post, email(operateenblog@gmail.com) with the subject subject “Caption Contest”, or tweet with the hashtag “#OTCaption”.
  3. The contest closes September 1st at 12:00 AM.
  4. I will pick the winner and they will be contacted soon after.
  5. BRING YOUR BEST CAPTION SKILLS!

Alright. The picture below is from the July 21st performance of I Capuleti e i Montecchi by Bellini at Caramoor with Eglise Gutierrez as Giulietta and Kate Aldrich as Romeo with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. The image is from the Caramoor Tumblr. Good luck and GO GO GO!!!
