It’s that time of opera again. Where fans like up huddle next to radios, and eagerly anticipate a new production of the Mozartian calssic, Don Giovanni.
Unfortunately, tonight’s Giovanni will not be with star baritone Mariusz Kweichien (I don’t think I spelled that right…) as previously planned. It will be sung by the formidable Figaro of Peter Mattei. (This man is an inspiration for us to love Rossini’s opera, which I WILL review tomorrow, or next Wednesday) Apparently Mariusz is injured, so he had to opt out of the first few performances but two af the end are still to be decided so we’ll see…
Anyway, I’ll be reviewing tonight’s performance, so sit tight.
P.S. Here’s the link to the Met.
