It seems that Anne Boleyn has been so taxing for Anna Netrebko, she has canceled tonight’s performances and Carnegie Hall appearances, for a 10 day rest period recommended by her doctor. So maybe Anne Boleyn is guilty. Of stealing Netrebko from us. However, we are in luck. Stepping in to Anna’s role tonight is the National Council Audition winner, Angela Meade. She is also scheduled for two more performances this season. She will be singing the role, and there will be a review to follow tonight.
Also subbing out, this time because of illness, in Ekaterina Gubanova, who just is Jane Seymour. She is being replaced by Katharine Goeldner. I have never heard of her before…
Anyway, review to follow tonight. And play Met Opera trivia during the intermission! I love it! It’s so fun. You might even get your name on the radio if you’re fast enough!
A stanotte, e per sempre. (Pagliacci reference)
