Hello opera fans,
Many of you are probably celebrating Christmas tomorrow, and that makes tonight Christmas Eve.
Regardless of how and where you spend Christmas Eve, my favorite Christmas Eve tradition is snuggling up in my bed and watching the NYC Ballet/Balanchine Nutcracker, followed by the first two acts of Puccini’s La Boheme after the evening festivities have quieted down.
I thought I would like to share this tradition with you all! Below, is the exact video of the Nutcracker I watch.(Starring a young Macaulay Culkin. What the what?!).
And here is the video of the Zeffirelli Boheme that I also watch…
Thank you all for letting me share my holiday tradition with you. For those celebrating, I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow and a new year filled with blessings. For those who aren’t celebrating, have a great day and great new year regardless.
And for those who will try my tradition, I hope you make it one of your own!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Merry Christmas — and congratulations on being quoted in The NYTimes today!
Man you love opera, kid. You should be hosting my show. Now I know who to leave it to when I die.
HAHA! Thank you but let’s not think so far ahead!
Merry Christmas!
